Frequently Asked Questions
Do you charge for bug fixes?
No. We don’t believe in rewarding incompetence. If there’s a bug as a result of our work, or something isn’t quite the way it was supposed to be, we’ll fix it at no charge. If the bug is introduced as a result of server changes on your end or other mistakes on the client’s part, we reserve the right to charge for the time. In most cases, we try to help and be a good partner if it’s a minor item. Our primary goal is to support your business.
What if I have a non-Wordpress project? Can you help?
Yes! We’re specialists in PHP, CSS, HTML, Javascript and a host of other technologies. We’ve built full web crawlers and other automated systems. WordPress is the world’s largest platform, so it’s our primary focus. But we can work on custom projects as well. Just let us know what you need, and we’ll go from there.
What kind of businesses do you work with?
We collaborate with a broad range of businesses. Anything from small single person operations to large corporations. We’ve worked on a wide variety of industries such as food, automotive, tourism, e-commerce and more. Your business and industry won’t impact our ability to deliver. If you can describe what you want to do clearly, we can build it.
Do you work on my live site? What if there’s a problem?
Not usually. We’ll work on your live site only in case of an emergency. We usually make a copy of your site to our staging server and set up a development environment. What that means is that your live site can continue doing business while we work on the changes on our live server. Once the testing is done and you approve the changes, we “push” all the changes to your live site. In this way, you maintain your site’s uptime as much as possible.
Can you help me update my existing website that another web firm built?
Probably. If the other firm did a half decent job, we could help you make small changes. If it’s a bigger project, it’s sometimes cheaper and faster to rebuild the site. Making that decision is something we would discuss with you before moving forward.
Can you help me write content for my website?
Yes. If you need copywriting, we can refer you to our copywriters. They do a great job.
How does the payment process work?
If you’re a new client, you can take advantage of our 100% Guarantee and try us out for free for small jobs. For larger projects, we work with a 50% deposit policy.
Who will I work with during the project?
This is a great question to ask of any web development firm. Some companies will farm out your job to freelancers or interns. With Bulldog Code you’ll work with our tight-knit in-house team. Your project manager will always speak excellent English, and we make ourselves available for questions at all stages of the project.
Can you help me source photos for my website?
We generally prefer to have photos provided, but if you’re in need, we do maintain a stock photo membership, and we can get photos from our account for your site build.
Do I own my website?
Yes! Everything that we build is 100% owned by you. We hand over the source code and all the files from your project. Your website is your website, we’re just here to support your success.
Where is my website hosted?
The site is hosted on your server. If you run into problems or aren’t sure where to host, we can refer you to a trusted hosting company.
How is my website backed up?
We keep internal backups of all the work we produce. We also provide security, backup, and maintenance packages if needed.
